In Ananatapuram while studying in college…

I used to play a game. Its a kind of creative one. Started with few of my friends when we were in college and who were all passionate about films. It was just for fun.

Now it is a kind of mild obsession for me.

The game is called – Anukunna (I thought so)

It starts like this. After dinner we walk to a theater. There used to be these forth coming film stills. These stills displayed in a random order. Each one from the group used to tell a story using that stills and known information like director’ style, genre and lead actors image/stardom. No limits. But end of it story teller says “anukunnyya”. Rayalseema accent for “anukunna”. Lots of fun.

When I heard about Maniratnam’s RAVAN I jumped into my fantasy film making. “Anuknnyya”.

1. Ravan. – Abhay – An accomplished all righteous senior police officer. Representing an ideal, arrogant and firmly believes every means is justified when it is a right cause. Never hesitates to use torture and any other brutal force with in his power on anyone to extract facts. Having total support from current ruling political leadership.

But for the recently nominated by ruling party Human Rights Commissioner.

Vibheeshan(i) – Sanghavi – Successful lawyer. Fought her way up in Political system. Powerful and respected voice in country. Cutting across political parties earned respect for conscious choices and consensus building. Admires and supports Abhay’s worthy causes. Acts as a collective, calm, common inner-voice. Opposed, persuaded, and prevailed over Abhay by appealing to his core values.

Abhay and Sanghavi understand each others role. Each respect and admire the other.

Rama – Suwaartha – Thought education helps in understanding social disparities and power to oppose economic exploitation. Proved wrong enough number of times. Disappointed with current social-political systems. In-search of alternative established new code of conduct in exploited masses. Believed in some kind of armed struggle is necessary to force deaf powerhouses to hear voice of justice. This new path lead him head on collision with the current political system and challenged Abhay’s means and ways.

Suwaartha now earned a title as Outlaw with a reward on his head. He is well regarded and protected by common people as their only hope. His activities earned two notable admirers.

One is Sanghavi though never met Suwaartha, on several occasions She championed Suwaartha’s causes and vocally supported his views.

Second one is Swaathi.

Seetha – Swaathi – a staunch environmentalist. Firm proponent of maintaining balance in every aspect of inner and outer life. Swaathi believes that the root cause for all social ills/evils is current shortsighted exploitation of natural resources in the name of development. Always with exploited uprooted masses. Crossed paths with Abhay and worked along with Suwaartha.

Lo….. you got our characters in place.

Inta apuroopangaa choosukuntunnadu…infact vana vasam nunchee aameni rakshinchaadu…safety ichaadu…intati apuroopamina culture meeda daadi chesi anyayangaa kayyaniki kaalu duvvi vibheeshanudi sahayam to mosam chesi niraayudhudina ravanudni champestaadu raamudu…

inta chesi saadhinchukunna seeta ni anumaanistaadu..! showing a great devide in the mindsets of Raam and Raavan. Raamudu bratikaadu so charitra maro rakangaa raasukobadindi…ee katha maruguna padindi…

Idi balangaa cheppi unte bahusa last movie ayyedemo Mani ki..atleast last confused movie ayyindi..guddilo mella..!
