నవతరంగం ఫిల్మ్ ధియరీ నుంచీ ఫిల్మ్ ప్రాక్టీస్ వైపు అడుగులు వేసే ఆలోచనలో భాగంగా డిజిటల్ లఘుచిత్రాల నిర్మాణం ప్రతిపాదించడం జరిగింది. ఈ క్రమంలో 2009 ఆగస్టు నెలలో ఎబిలిటీ ఫౌండేషన్,చెన్నై వారు ఒక నిమిషం నిడివి ఉన్న చిత్రాల పోటీని నిర్వహిస్తున్నారన్న సమాచారం తెలిసివచ్చింది. విషయం, అవకాశం,అవసరం,ఆలోచన అన్నీ కలిసొచ్చిన ఈ క్షణంలో నవతరంగం ఒక లఘుచిత్రం నిర్మించదలిచింది. కొన్ని చర్చలు, ఆలోచనలూ, స్క్రిప్టుల తరువాత, ఎక్కువ లొకేషన్లు నటులు సెట్లింగులు, సెటప్పులు అవసరం లేని “విజేత” అనే స్క్రిప్టుని ఓకే చెయ్యడం జరిగింది.
అనుకున్నదే ఆరంభంగా రెండురోజుల ప్లానింగ్, ఒకరోజు షూటింగ్,మరో రోజు పోస్ట్ ప్రొడషన్ పనులు పూర్తిచేసుకుని విజేత తయారయ్యింది.
“I am a winner…all I need is a little push to go on” అనే ఒక విజేత కథ ఈ లఘు చిత్రం.

ఈ లఘు చిత్రం కోసం Panasonic 102B, 3CCD కేమెరా ఉపయోగించడం జరిగింది. షూటింగ్ మొత్తం 60-V సాధారణ బల్బ్ లైట్ లో చేసాము.

లఘుచిత్రం మొత్తానికి “glow” ఇచ్చినట్లున్నారు. “glow” బావుంటుంది కాని, ఎక్కువగా వాడితే, దాని ప్రభావం తగ్గుతుందేమో అనిపించింది.
ఇక సౌండు విషయానికి వస్తే, చక్కగా కుదిరింది. సైన్యం ( infantry ) కదులుతున్న శబ్దం కూడా ఎక్కడైనా వాడుంటే బావుంటుందేమో అని నా అభిప్రాయం.
చక్కని లఘుచిత్రాన్ని తీసినందుకు మీకు అభినందనలు.

@వర:ఫిల్మ్ మేకింగ్, లైటింగ్ ప్రోసెస్ల గురించి, దర్శకుడు పవిత్రంని రాయమని చెబుతాను.ప్రస్తుతానికి నేను స్క్రిప్టు గురించి చెబుతాను.
మొదటగా నవతరంగం వెంకట్- నేను ‘వికలాంగుల గురించి ఏంచెప్పాలనుకున్నాం’ అనే ఆలోచన గురించి చర్చించుకోవడం జరిగింది. ఒకప్పుడు వికలాంగుల్ని గురించి చెప్పేటందుకు disabled/physically challenged అనే ఇంగ్లీషు పదాలు వాడేవారు. కానీ ఈ మధ్యకాలంలో “special persons” or “differently abled persons” అనే expression ఎక్కువ ఆమోదనీయం అయ్యింది. దాన్ని ప్రాతిపదికగా తీసుకుని ఒక పాజిటివ్ కోణం నుంచీ ఫిల్మ్ ఉండాలనే నిర్ణయానికొచ్చాం.
ఈ ఆలోచనలో ఉండగానే,నవతరంగం సభ్యులు అరిపిరాల సత్యప్రసాద్ గారు ఒక స్క్రిప్ట్ పంపారు. ఆ స్క్రిప్ట్ physically challenged లో ఉన్న extrasensory perceptions ని ఎత్తిచూపడంతో పాటూ, “మనుషులందరూ disabled in general, normal people becomes abled more often than differently abled అంతే” అనే ఒక philosophical premise ని ముందుంచారు.
అద్భుతమైన ఆలోచన. కానీ,షూటింగ్ పరంగా కొంచెం కష్టమైన స్క్రిప్ట్. అందుకని ఆ సైద్ధాంతిక ప్రాతిపదికని ఒక భౌతికవిజయంగా మారుస్తూ “విజేత” ఆలోచన రూపుదిద్దుకుంది. ఒకసారి చర్చించుకున్నాక దర్శకుడు పవిత్రం, ఎడిటర్ తిలక్ కు వినిపించాం. వారు “బాగుంది. చేద్దాం!” అన్న తరువాత, అదే ఆలోచనను నేను పేపరు మీద రాశాను.
స్క్రిప్ట్ కోసం ఫార్మాట్ ఏదీ ఫాలోఅవలేదు. కేవలం ఒక running notes లాగా మాత్రం రాసుకుని suggestive music, shots అందులో పొందుపరచడం జరిగింది. ఆ స్క్రిప్ట్ కింద ఇస్తున్నాను చూడండి.

A chess table.Two people seated (Mid-close shots, without revealing their chairs) to play chess.The Two people seriously looking at the pawns.
Game starts…
Pawns start moving.Slowly one by one pawns are taken out from both sides.
Game picks up the moment.Tension builds up. Quick arc shots of chess broad,high speed moments of hands playing the game. Pawned being moved.
Pawns go in to boxes one by one.They accumulate in bulk. More black pawns are back in box.
White pawned player…takes out important black pawns (when horse is killed, horse suckle sound. While elephant is taken out, elephant trumpet with increased music)
Proud face(CU) of the white pawned guy. Tensed (CU) black pawned guy.
(Music reached crescendo)
White pawned guy moves his Elephant across the checks and says “CHECK”!
black pawned guys face becomes pale.
Both laugh and shake hands.
Pleasant music starts…
Lost (black pawn) guy comes around (LS) and moves the wheel chair of the WINNER.
Caption appears “I am a WINNER. All I need is a little push to go on”.

There are only 2 lines in the script about camera movement….So these are the only movements in the shooting and rest of the frame changes are through editing?

@వర: స్క్రిప్టుకు, స్క్రీన్ల్ ప్లే కి షూటింగ్ స్క్రిప్టుకి తేడాలుంటాయి.స్క్రిప్టు రచయిత చాలావరకూ షాట్ డివిజన్,ఎంట్రీ-ఎగ్జిట్ లాంటివి రాయరు. పైన నేను రాసింది కొంత స్క్రిప్టు మరికొంత స్క్రీన్ల్ ప్లే ఎలిమెంట్స్ ల కలగలపు. సాధారణంగా దర్శకుడు షూటింగ్ స్క్రిప్టును లొకేషన్, నటులు,ఎక్విప్మెంట్ లిమిటేషన్లను దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని తయారుచేసుకుంటాడు లేదా లొకేషన్లో మార్చుకుంటాడు.

ఇప్పటికే నవతరంగంలో వినాయకుడు,ఆవకాయ బిర్యానీ చిత్రాల స్క్రీన్ ప్లే పెట్టడం జరిగింది. దానితోపాటూ ఎన్నో వ్యాసాలూ,స్క్రిప్ట్ రైటింగ్ కు సంబంధించిన ఫ్రీ సాప్ట్ వేర్ వివరాలు-ట్యుటోరియల్స్ లాంటివి పొందుపరచడం జరిగింది.

My post was not to show up something..Because of the closing shot .when I saw first time..I was perplexed and like looking to solve the puzzele kind….This guy purposefully lost the game??..as I was thinking like this the theseme ” I am winner need all I just need is a little push” lines came and clarified me…But for a while I was in doubt as they didnt show me immediate feelings of the players after completing the game……..

Congratulations to Navatarangam team. Well made and impressive. Sound designing could have been tried differently like, by keeping ‘winner’s spirit and confidence’ in mind rather concentrating on ‘Game’. I expect more.
