“The Man Beyond The Bridge” (పల్తదచో మునిస్) అనే కొంకణి భాషా చిత్రం 2009 టొరంటో ఇంటర్నేషన్ ఫిల్మ్ ఫెస్టివల్ లో సినీవిమర్శకులిచ్చే discovery award గెలుచుకుంది. ఈ 96 నిమిషాల నిడివిగల చిత్రం NFDC సహకారంతో లక్ష్మీకాంత్ షటగోంకర్ నిర్మించి దర్శకత్వం వహించారు. భారతీయ మీడియా, సినీపరిశ్రమ ఇదే చలనచిత్రోత్సవాల్లో ప్రిమియర్ జరుపుకున్న ఆశుతోష్ గొవరికర్ “Whats your Rashee”, యష్ రాజ్ సంస్థ నిర్మించిన “Dil bole Hadippa” లకు ఇచ్చిన కవరేజ్ ఈ చిత్రానికి ఇవ్వలేదు. అదే విదేశీ చలనచిత్రోత్సవంలో అత్యంత ప్రతిష్టాత్మక గౌరవం దక్కినతరువాతగానీ ఈ చిత్రాన్ని మన భారతీయులు గుర్తించలేదు.
ప్రస్తుతం గోవా జరుగుతున్న భారతీయ అంతర్జాతీయ చిత్రోత్సవాల్లో ఈ సినిమాను ప్రారంభచిత్రంగా ప్రదర్శించారు. సినిమాల వ్యాపారానికి కేంద్రంగా మాత్రమే తయారవుతున్న గోవా ఫిల్మ్ ఫెస్టివల్ కు సంబంధించిన నిర్వాహకులు, సహజంగానే ఈ దర్శకుడ్ని ఆహ్వానించడం మర్చిపోయారు. మీడియా గుర్తుచేసిన నాలుగు రోజులకుగానీ నిర్వాహకులు చిత్ర దర్శకుడు లక్ష్మీకాంత్ షటగోంకర్ ఆహ్వానించలేదు. ఈ ఘటనకు ప్రతిస్పందిస్తూ దర్శకుడు “For me and my crew members it was a privileged opportunity to walk the red carpet. However, I along with my crew decided not to attend the red carpet offered after five days of the opening of the film in interest of prestige and dignity of the IFFI,” అంటూ చురక అంటించి తప్పుకున్నాడు.
గోవా-కర్ణాటక సరిహద్దుల్లోని అడవిలో నివసించే ఒంటరి ఫారెస్ట్ గార్డ్ జ్ఞపకాలు, మానసిక వికలాంగురాలైన యువతికీ అతనికీ మధ్యసాగే అనుబంధం విషయవస్తువుగా ఈ కొంకణి సినిమా రూపొందింది. హాలీవుడ్ సినిమా మూసల్ని కాపీకొట్టి, ప్రపంచ సినిమా స్థాయిని అందుకుంటున్నామని చంకలుగుద్దుకుంటున్న మన సినీపరిశ్రమ పోకడలు, ఈ మూససినిమాల అవతలివైపున నిలుచున్న అసలుసిసలైన భారతీయ సినిమాల్ని గుర్తించకపోవడం పెద్దగా ఆశ్చర్యకరం కాకపోయినా, ఖచ్చితంగా బాధాకరం.

అవునూ..హెడ్డింగ్ ను చూసి ఈ చిత్రాన్ని మరో మూస సినిమా వచ్చిందని చెప్తున్నారనుకున్నా..చూస్తే కంటెంట్ ఆపోజిట్ గా ఉంది..నా డౌట్ కరెక్టేనా
