Upon reading some reviews I was even surprized how he ended up with a pulitzer prize for reviewing movies. However, I concur with Ebert's opinion on Clockwork Orange. Kubric sort of had a cult following. If you looked at his movie making style, he relied on sex (sometimes a bit too weird) and violence as his medium to present his ideology. Eyes Wide Shut and Lolita are another examples. Nothing wrong with that. Not my kind. The Shining is slightly different (of the ones I saw). Thanks to the author. Space Odyssey, I liked a lot.
